All proofreading and editing projects are charged per page. The page count is based on the industry standard of a “page” being 250 words. All edited documents will be completed in Microsoft Word (using the track changes feature). The average turn around time is 5-10 business days, not included weekends (additional proofing or editing time may be required for larger documents). Rush jobs with a turnaround time less than five days can be accommodated, however, a rush fee will apply.
Below are the rates and a description of what is included. All rates are based solely on proofreading and editing. Please anticipate additional fees for any applicable courier charges if you would like a hard copy mailed to you.
Polished Draft Proofreading (usually work that has been edited but just needs a final read over for minor typos, grammatical errors, punctuation)
$3.50/page (Microsoft word document; 6 page minimum)
$3.75/page (PDF/printout versions, not including postage fees)
Basic Proofreading (includes spelling mistakes, typos, punctuation, grammar, capitalization errors)
$5.00/page (MS Document, 6 page minimum)
$5.50/page (PDF/printout versions, not including postage fees)
Comprehensive Proofreading (includes everything that comes with the basic proofreading option plus formatting, continuity of the writing, inconsistencies, checking for repetitive words or phrases, and general writing feedback)
$6.00/page (4 – 99 pages – MS Document)
$5.00/page (100+ pages – MS Document)
$6.50/page (PDF/Printout versions)
Payment Options
All payments are accepted via PayPal invoice. Upon working out all the project logistics, (including your overall expectations and any time deadlines) an invoice will be mailed directly to you and upon receipt of payment work on your writing project will begin. A deposit of a minimum of 50% of your balance is required to begin editing, with the remaining balance due upon completion. In addition, if you choose to pay your entire invoice at the time you inquire about our services, you will receive a 5% discount on your proofreading and editing services.
